Boxster rental
Boxster rental program
We now have a 2003 Boxster S fully prepared race car for rent this 2010 season.
When I set up the rental I'm going to amortize the cost of the ins. over the 30 day ins period so, here's how it would work.
An insurance deductible has to be paid up front ($5,000). This is returnable to the lessee in full unless there is damage or driver error.(mech over rev. Missed shift, that kind of stuff) Ins deposit can be credit card (best way). So can payment in full for that matter. The lease is $1,000 per day plus $166 a day for ins. The car is supplied with a full tank of fuel and 4 "like new" tires. The car is returned to us with a full tank of fuel and tires that can be worn but not abused. i.e. flat spotted.
Transport has to be figured in naturally by track as the car has to be transported to the track.
Transport to the Glen is about $600.00
Lightning is about $450.00
Three day event could be as low as $3,500 and this is a prepared race car. here are the specs of the car:
SCCA, NASA, & PCA log books. Interesting race history: pole at 2003 Runoffs, 3rd at 2004 Runoffs, mid-pack at 2005 runoffs. NASA National Championships in 2006 & 2007.
Upon delivery of new car to Fred Baker Porsche in fall of 2002, it was converted by Fred’s (three-time SCCA National Champion) crew into an SCCA T2 race car. Fred raced it successfully in 2003 and 2004.
As noted, for the first three years of its life, the Boxster was in SCCA Touring 2 setup, which meant that everything but the shocks and the chip had to remain stock. The chip was allowed to be remapped, which is what Fred spent 2 days and $3500 doing at the Turbo Performance Center. Additionally, the convertible top was removed in order to accommodate the full roll cage. And the muffler was allowed to be replaced with a straight pipe.
Ohlin coil-over, adjustable shocks (Fred put these on after trying several different types)
New engine right before the 2005 season
GT3 front control arms (made a huge difference once I was able to install- would not be legal for SCCA)
Lightweight aluminum flywheel
Complete fire suppression system
Power steering radiator and cooling system (for some reason, Boxster and Caymans have problems with boiling power steering fluid with track use)
Track seats on both sides, with 5-point harnesses
Full roll cage
NASA, SCCA and PCA log books
Window net
Driver's compartment net (NASA requirement)
BBS 3-piece wheels
Both the stock ECU and tuned ECU
Both exhausts- stock and the spare straight pipe (adds about 12 hp)
Brand new Hawk HC-110 pads on the front. Only one heat cycle.
Wired for two-way radio
MOMO detachable steering wheel
